Many of us have been using technology in advertising or through utilization of platforms for a very long time. I have a challenge for you: Do you know what your online profile looks like?

Is it accurate?

Google your name using Google’s Incognito mode. What do you see? Do you or your business show up? Do you have a Google Workspace account? Click here to learn how.

You should see all your free online profiles on page 1 as results from KW, Google, Zillow, Realtor.com, LinkedIn, Trulia; anyplace that will allow you to have a REALTOR profile…If you have been in the business for a while you might have some work to do here to clean up these accounts as the key is to have a complete online profile.

You may need to start with figuring out how to log into some of them. If so, be sure to track your login credentials for future access.

Free Google placement is invaluable to your brand; however, if it is not accurate, it can do more harm than good. Are there others with a similar name as you or your brand? How do they look online?

Online Profiles 101

  • Use a recent professional photo.
  • Make sure your phone number is formatted consistently. Meaning, if your phone number is listed as (555) 555-5555 on your website, make sure it is formatted on all your profiles as such. If you have it listed as 555.555.5555, format it consistently that way.
  • Use the proper online bio, long form/short form, or 156 characters for apps. Use the same bio on all your profiles and be consistent.
  • Are all of your profiles, photos, brokerage information, & contact information up to date? Are they compliant with local regulations? Check with your broker if in doubt.
  • Look at all of these a couple of times each year, and update/clean them up accordingly.

 

Things to Consider When Completing Your Online Profile:

In addition to the above list, complete the following:

  • Do you have a Vanity Domain for yourself (YourNamerealtor.com) or your business? If not get one from GoDaddy.com.
  • Consistently ask your clients to leave honest online reviews, and add those links to your Command Website.
  • Include your Service area, counties, and/or zip codes.
  • Add links to your social media profiles like Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Tik Tok, etc.
  • Add Designations, Recognition, or additional relevant Degrees.
  • Include listings and results where you can, and claim your transactions.
  • Do you have a slogan or tagline? Use it!
  • Include a personal or Team logo. Create one for cheap on fiverr.com.

It is worth the time to update and or create online profiles. Getting recommendations from past & current clients are invaluable!
