Your online presence and your digital footprint carry power in your representation. Whether you are an individual associate or on a team, you should always have a unique and clear message online. Do you have a logo for example? This can communicate confidence, style, and professionalism.

Look and feel like a business owner. Make use of a professional headshot, biography, email address, website, branded colors, fonts—it all matters!

Your Facebook profile, Business page, YouTube (Fun fact: I went to college with Chad, and he has no idea who I am), Twitter, Instagram, and Pinterest all connect to tell a story; one which you have control over the narrative. Get comfortable in front of a camera—they are easy to use now. You should be creating videos: vlogs, community information, market stats. Get in front of your consumers so they see and hear who you are and establish a connection. Do this well enough, and people will begin to recognize you in line at the grocery store!

Read the books by Gary Vaynerchuk. CRUSH IT! Come from contribution, be honest, approachable, professional, and consistent. According to Barry Feldman, share wisely; comment on others’ feeds or posts, express your opinions, and have original thoughts.  Promote yourself as a business leader and area expert.
